Hanna is nearing hurricane strength, and moving quickly toward the north.

At 11 a.m. Hurricane Ike's maximum sustained winds have dropped to 120 miles per hour, still a dangerous Category 3 storm.

Forecasters say Tropical Storm Josephine has continued to weaken as it moves across the eastern Atlantic. Winds are near 45 mph.

The storm is still at least four days away and the path is still very uncertain, but Governor Crist has signed an executive order declaring a state of emergency.

For more than a year, emergency planners from across Florida have been meeting to dream up a nightmare. It's the worst-case scenario -- the hurricane that would do the most damage across Florida.

NASA is closely watching the development of Hanna in the Atlantic Ocean. The storm forced the space agency to delay Monday's planned rollout of the Shuttle Atlantis.
